I don’t live in this flat.
Most of Spaniards live in flats or appartments, they can be of different sizes and they are all around cities and villages.
Soy ingeniera.
I am an engineer.
In Spanish most of the jobs end in A when they are femenin; for example: PROFESOR – PROFESORA, INGENIERO- INGENIERA, ARQUITECTO-ARQUITECTA…
El bolso de maquillaje es mi mejor amigo.
The make up bag is my best friend.
Maquillaje comes from the verb Maquillar, which means To make up. This is a masculine word, as it ends in AJE, like EL EQUIPAJE, EL VIAJE.
Estoy enamorado de esta ciudad.
I am in love with this city.
Estar enamorado de + noun or pronoun. Estoy enamorada de Juan. Estoy enamorado de ella. Enamorado/a changes in masculin or femenin acording to the speaker.
Trabajo en un video club.
I work in a video club.
Trabajo comes from TRABAJAR, present tense: YO TRABAJO, TU TRABAJAS, EL TRABAJA, NOSOTROS TRABAJAMOS, VOSOTROS TRABAJÁIS, ELLOS TRABAJAN.
Soy informático.
I am an information technician.
La informática is a university degree, el informático is the person who works with computers.
Soy consultor en una multinacional.
I am a consultant in a multinational.
